Mission
The CEO will provide corporate, strategic, and operational leadership for a next-generation biotechnology company focused on redefining therapeutic discovery in autoimmune and inflammatory disease. The company is leveraging decades of experience in antibody drug development and the power of AI-driven spatial ‘omics platform to uncover and treat the biological drivers of non-response to current standard-of-care therapies. By integrating these insights with translational, clinical, and business expertise, the CEO will guide the organization in identifying novel targets and advancing innovative biological therapies with the potential to transform patient outcomes. This leader will be responsible for shaping corporate strategy, building high-performing teams and partnerships, securing financing, and ensuring scientific and operational excellence across all programs.

Key Outcomes (focus on next 24 months)

Strategic Vision & Execution

  • Translate the company’s platform and discovery insights into a focused, milestone-driven R&D roadmap.

  • Define and articulate a clear corporate strategy that aligns scientific capabilities with high-value clinical opportunities in autoimmune and inflammatory disease.

Platform Development & Scientific Leadership (in collaboration with the CSO)

  • Drive the continued evolution and validation of the proprietary AI-enabled spatial omics and therapeutic antibody design platforms.

  • Ensure integration of computational biology, translational science, and drug discovery technologies to identify novel therapeutic targets, clinically relevant biomarkers, and innovative therapies for patients in need.

  • Oversee selection and advancement of 1–2 lead antibody-based programs into preclinical and early clinical development within defined timelines.

Team & Culture Building

  • Recruit, develop, and inspire a multidisciplinary team spanning data science, biology, translational medicine, and operations.

  • Establish a culture grounded in scientific rigor, collaboration, accountability, and patient impact.

Financial Stewardship & Fundraising

  • Secure seed (>10m€) and Series A (>30m€) financing to support platform expansion and early therapeutic pipeline development.

  • Manage budgets and resource allocation to ensure efficient execution of scientific and corporate milestones.

  • Build strong relationships with the Board of Directors, investors, and potential strategic partners.

Partnerships & External Engagement

  • Forge collaborations with academic groups, biopharma partners, and key opinion leaders to enhance platform validation, target discovery, and pipeline development.

  • Represent the company to investors, stakeholders, and the broader scientific community as a compelling thought leader in the field of AI-driven drug discovery, autoimmunity, and inflammation.

Governance & Organizational Foundations

  • Establish robust operational, legal, and compliance frameworks appropriate for a venture- backed biotechnology enterprise.

  • Develop and implement key performance metrics (corporate, scientific, and organizational) to track progress and guide decision-making.

 

Patient Impact & Long-Term Value Creation

  • Champion the company’s mission to deliver transformative therapies for patients who fail to respond to existing treatments.

  • Position the company for long-term growth, strategic partnerships, and future clinical development success.

 

Required Experience

  • Ph.D., M.D. and M.B.A in a relevant field or equivalent work experience resulting in the required level of mastery to lead a world-class biopharma organization.

  • Prior C-level experience founding and/or building a successful biotechnology start-up(s) from pre-seed/seed through Series A+ stages.

  • Proven ability to secure financing from institutional and strategic venture capital investors and establish pharma partnerships to advance the company’s mission.

  • Established, track record progressing several antibody-based therapeutic assets / biological agents, through preclinical and early clinical development in a capital- and time- efficient manner.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Leadership/management-level understanding of the application of AI/ML methods across various phases of drug discovery process.

  • Working knowledge of the autoimmunity and inflammation disease area from scientific, clinical, regulatory, and/or commercial perspectives.

  • Track record securing non-dilutive financing (NDF), particularly in France and/or the EU, via licensing, partnership or other sources, during the pre-seed and seed stages to ensure a sufficient capital base to hit early key milestones/value inflection points.
